When the single was released the final track order of Fallen had not yet been chosen so although the single states Farther Away as an Album Version it never made it onto the album. Also, the Bliss Mix is just the album version of Bring Me To Life minus Paul McCoy's vocals, the version of the song originally written (before Paul McCoy's part was written into the part for the Daredevil soundtrack).

There were different versions such as promos and DVDs and versions with altered track orders. One of the most famous ones (viewed as a collector's item) is the first Australian pressing of the single. The fourth track was not the video version. Instead it was a B-Side called "Missing," that was later removed and released with the CD/DVD set Anywhere But Home.

Two other demo versions of this song also exist, having been leaked onto the Internet, probabably at the time of the recording of "Fallen". Both are often referred to as "Bring Me to Life (Acoustic Version)" They are not available on any album and are very hard to find and/or obtain, usually acquired through the computer on Peer-to-Peer file sharing programs. Both of these demo versions are very similar, with only a few minor differences -such as Lee's voice being warped in the first verse intro of one demo- setting them apart. The song itself however is mainly electric guitar and assorted computerized sound effects. Neither of the Demo's feature the vocals of Paul McCoy like their Fallen counterpart.

Video

The music video for this song features Amy Lee in a night gown and barefoot, in her room inside a tall building in the city at nighttime while the band and Paul McCoy are playing on a higher floor of the building. She climbs out of the window of her room and begins to climb the building, passing many windows while venturing to the window that featured the room with the band and McCoy. Right before the bridge of the song featuring a duet with both McCoy and Lee, Lee ends up falling off the building but managing to hang on to the little ledge that she was standing on. McCoy pulls open the window and tries to save her, but doesn't manage to and she ends up falling off the building. At the very end of the video, we see Lee back in bed again: it was all a nightmare. This is symbolic because it features someone trying to find someone that will 'wake her and save her'.

Appearances

"Bring Me to Life" was first released on Daredevil: The Album as track #9 because there was great demand for it after it was featured in the film Daredevil. Evanescence was also the only band on the soundtrack to have two songs of theirs featured. The second was the album version of My Immortal, not to be confused with the band version that was released later as a single (and the version the band much prefers). My Immortal was track #17 on Daredevil: The Album.

When "Bring Me to Life" was released there was a huge reaction from a wide range of audiences and television marketers saw it as a great way to attract people to television programmes and commercials. One of the places "Bring Me to Life" was marketed in was WWE No Way Out 2003 where it was used as the official theme song. It has also been used in TV commercials for shows such as Without A Trace. It was also used on the Hour-long Special September 21st 2006 Edition of the UK Soap 'Emmerdale'

On a 2005 episode of Video Mods on MTV2, Bring Me to Life was used with game vixens Dawn and Dusk.
